Short answer: yes.
Long answer: Yes, but it really depends! If it is your first time getting waxed, you will always feel some amount of discomfort. The pain is usually a bit of a sting, and the intensity will depend on what area you’re getting waxed. Brazilians in particular will always be the most painful the first time, but when you come back after 4 weeks the pain will already be way less!

About the length of a grain of rice, or ¼ of an inch. Typically, this is about 2-3 weeks of growth after your last shave/trim.
The wax needs to be able to grip the hair in order to remove it, therefore hairs that are too short won’t be able to come up with the wax.
-
ABSOLUTELY NOT. The earliest you can shave before your appointment is 2 weeks.
The hair needs to be long enough for the wax to grab and oftentimes a fully grown out “bush” will get a cleaner result.
-
No, when hair is properly removed from the root, the follicle needs to produce a brand new hair. This is why the regrowth from waxing is slower, finer, and not “prickly” feeling.
When we shave or trim, there is a blunt cut being made to the hair which is what makes it feel thicker at the end resulting in the prickly feeling.
-
On average, hairs that have been waxed, or removed from the root, will start breaking through the skin around 2 weeks after.
However, if you have been inconsistent, or if it’s still your first few times being waxed, you may see some hair growing back sooner or unevenly. This is because the hair grows in cycles and they won’t be synced up until after 3-6 waxes.
-
For most areas of the body, every 4-6 weeks.
For some individuals the underarms may grow quickly and can be done every 3-4 weeks.
Areas on the face often have quicker regrowth and can be waxed every 2-4 weeks.
-
Our hair grows in cycles and around the 4 week mark after getting waxed is when those newly waxed hairs are long enough to be waxed again. The hairs have grown back thinner and weaker due to traumatizing the follicle and as a result, the waxing process is less painful.
Inconsistent waxing allows the hair to grow back to full health again where it will be more painful because the hair is thicker and stronger.

Yes you can! However, we require that you put in a fresh tampon or a diva cup right before you come in.
Your pain tolerance may also be lower when on your period so your wax may feel more painful than usual. We’d recommend taking a painkiller like ibuprofen about an hour before your appointment to help ease the pain.
-
Yes you can! However much like being on your period, you may have a lower pain tolerance and experience more pain during your wax.
Some pregnant clients have been the opposite though and have a higher pain tolerance!
-
Yes! Hemorrhoids are extremely common and nothing to be worried about; we will still wax as close as we can to ensure your skin is as smooth as possible!

If you are in the middle of your treatments, and they are about 4-6 weeks apart, then you cannot be waxed until you have completed all your treatments.
However, I’ve had some clients that are booked out 10 weeks in between their treatments and they will come get waxed 5 weeks after their laser treatment. As long as you have at least 4 weeks before your next laser treatment you can get waxed. This is because the laser needs to be able to find the root of the hair and waxing removes it.
Some clients have completed 6-12 laser treatments and still experience hair growth either soon after completing their sessions or years after. It is common for clients like this to go to waxing to remove the remaining hair, and it is often less painful for them since the bulk of the hair was removed by their laser treatments.

Ideally, you would want to get waxed at least 2-3 times before your wedding or important event. This would ensure that your skin is not sensitive to getting waxed, and you would experience smoother results that last longer.
If it is too late however, we recommend getting waxed 2-3 days before the event to allow your skin to have a break and heal while still being as smooth as possible.

If you have a numbing cream at home, you can apply it and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour before your appointment. Make sure to rinse off as much as you can before coming to your appointment.
We also offer a $10 add-on for a numbing cleanser that we apply at the beginning of your appointment. The cleanser will sit for about 30 seconds to a minute and will penetrate the skin and provide a numbing effect.
-
We do not have an age-limit, however if the client is under the age of 18 they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
-
Yes! However as our policy states, they can not be disruptive or distracting and the waxer reserves the right to ask any guest to leave.
Children under the age of 10 are also not allowed to be in the treatment room. There are hazards unsafe for them to be around.

There is no time in between or during clients for Kelcey to take calls. Moreover, she has an auditory processing disorder that makes it difficult for her to understand and communicate over the phone.
We communicate and respond over text!

We use hard wax that is rosin-free. Pine rosin can be an irritant to some people’s skin and so we use wax that is formulated specifically for sensitive skin types that can be used on anyone. Hard wax is also known as “stripless” wax as it can be removed without use of a cloth/paper strip. The wax is applied and sets, releasing it from most of the skin and only grabbing hair; it will still grab some skin, but only dead skin when applied and removed properly.
